About BRAD
BRAD is a non-profit organization serving Deaf and hard of hearing gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities in the State of Ohio
BRAD Organizational Structure
BRAD is governed by a five-member Executive Board, which is comprised
of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Board-at-Large.
Three Standing Committees help chart the direction of BRAD and carry
out the essential functions needed to fulfill the mission of the organization.
Law Committee
Responsible for developing and maintaining the bylaws and guidelines
to regulate the everyday affairs of BRAD.
Social Committee
Responsible for planning and providing social opportunities and events
to promote greater interaction among members and nonmembers in the state.
Education & Advocacy Committee
Responsible for collaborating with other service providers in addressing
communication access barriers and advocating equal rights and access for
Deaf and hard of hearing gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Ohioans.
BRAD Mission Statement
The purpose of the Buckeye Rainbow of the Deaf is to protect and promote
the interests and well-being of Deaf and hard of hearing gay, lesbian,
bisexual and transgender persons; to improve social and educational opportunities
for our members and educational opportunities for our members and to increase
awareness of the needs of Deaf and hard of hearing gay, lesbian, bisexual,
and transgender communities; and to support and promote our cause as equal
citizens of our land of democracy.
BRAD publishes "Buckeye PRIDE News", which contains a great wealth
of information about the organization and many of its social and educational
events, on a quarterly basis.
